If you have been working in a role or have gained experience in several different roles that BCS considers are within the scope of the IT profession the next step in your career journey could be achieving Chartered professional registration.
BCS defines the scope of the IT profession as working in roles using skills included in a recognised skills framework such as the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA www.sfia.org.uk) or the European Competence Framework (e-CF www.ecompetences.eu/)
The first task is to decide which Chartered status BCS offers is the one for you. To help you choose please see our guide to choosing the right registration here (http://www.bcs.org/content/ConTab/79)
For CITP there is a responsibility evaluation test that may help too. Check it out here (http://www.bcs.org/category/10982)
